When does the Job Evaluation Scheme apply?
The scheme is used under the following circumstances:
- A new post is developed within the service.
- A service-initiated change impacts the roles and responsibilities of an existing post.
- There is formal agreement that a post has changed significantly.
- A collective request for re-evaluation is lodged by a staff-side organisation for a shared job description.
- A post has been evaluated nationally for use throughout NHS Scotland.

Band 5 Nursing Roles
Nurses in roles evaluated at Agenda for Change Pay Band 5 may submit a re-evaluation request using a nationally-developed online process via the Scottish Terms and Conditions Committee.
