New Lanarkshire HR Website

This website was set up to improve access for NHS Lanarkshire’s Substantive staff and Bank Workers to HR information.

The NHS Lanarkshire Homepage already has a dedicated page covering Recruitment for anyone interested in working for NHS Lanarkshire, and a page with all of our Human Resources Policies, so we will send you back to the Homepage if that is the best place to find what you are looking for.

What is already available

  • Our Latest Updates page will be used for communicating important topics, like the reduced working hours for AfC staff from 1st April 2024. We won’t update this frequently like the regular Core Brief, it will be reserved for important HR-specific topics.
  • The HR Policies page includes both the policies and any associated guidance that was previously only available on FirstPort
  • Joining the Staff Bank through one of our FastTracks is available for our Substantive staff, existing Bank Workers who want to apply for an additional band, and Students studying appropriate health related courses.
  • We also have a Contact Us page to bring together the email addresses and telephone numbers of our different HR teams.

What comes next

This website is the cornerstone of HR’s Digital Strategy for 2024/25 and we are looking forward to its development over the coming year.

Our key ambition for this year is to modernise the way we ask our staff to communicate with us. As an example our FastTrack for the Staff Bank has allowed twice as many of our existing staff to join the Staff Bank compared to the paper-based applications we used before, and it takes half as long! We still have a lot of processes that rely on forms being filled out on paper or Microsoft Word, and by the end of this year we hope to replace the majority of those with a digital form.

There is a lot of information held on our intranet site FirstPort which would be useful for our Bank Workers (those people who are employed on the NHS Lanarkshire Staff Bank who do not work for us substantively) to have access to. Those workers usually cannot access FirstPort, so we are reviewing those with a view to hosting them here, so that they can be accessed by our Bank Workers from any device.
